The Stables at Cross Butts, Whitby

La segunda noche de la visita a Yorkshire de mi amiga, Emma, quedamos en un hotel encantador, que se llama ‘The Stables at Cross Butts’, en las afueras del pueblo de Whitby. Antes de la crisis de fiebre aftosa, era una granja, pero los propriedores tuven que convertir el negocio en un hotel, entonces los establos ahora son unos cuartos del hotel, pero todavía hay unos caballos en los campos cerca del hotel.

The Stables at Cross Butts, Whitby

On the second night of my friend’s, Emma’s, visit to Yorkshire, we stayed in the charming hotel, called ‘The Stables at Cross Butts’, on the outskirts of the town of Whitby. Before the food-and-mouth crisis, it used to be a farm, but the owners had to convert the business into a hotel, so the stables are now some of the hotel rooms, but there are still some horses in the fields near to the hotel.

La tarifa fue muy barato: una noche por cada cuarto costó solo £108, incluso un desayuno caliente, por ejemplo huevos revueltos con pan tostado o arenques ahumados con pan.

The room rate was very cheap: one night for each room cost only £108, including a hot breakfast, for example scrambled eggs with toast or smoked kippers with bread.

Goathland

Después de nuestro desayuno abundante, conducimos al pueblo muy tranquilo de Goathland, donde habían grabando la serie ‘Heartbeat’. El campo circundante es tan encantador y super bonito. Y suelen haber ovejas deambulando libremente en las calles, pero por alguna razón, parecían un poco tímidas ese día…

After our substantial breakfast, we drove to the very charming village of Goathland, where they used to record the TV series ‘Heartbeat’. The surrounding countryside is so charming and very pretty. And there are usually sheep roaming freely on the streets, but for some reason, they seemed a bit shy that day…

The Foulsyke Bistro, Scarborough

Luego conducimos por el paisaje precioso de Yorkshire para volver a Scarborough y comer nuestra comida asado en ‘The Foulsyke Bistro’. ¡Como veís abajo, la comida fue enorme con un ‘Yorkshire Pudding’ gigante y tantas verduras y otras guarniciones! ¡Pero todavía tuvimos capacidad para comer un postre de helado! ¡Gracias a Dios damos una vuelta después de la comida en la playa de Scarborough, donde vimos unos burros tan monos! ¡Fue una oportunidad para Emma de conocer a más lugareños antes de volver a Londres!

The Foulsyke Bistro, Scarborough

We then drove through the beautiful Yorkshire countryside to return to Scarborough and have our roast lunch at ‘The Foulsyke Bissstro’. As you can see below, the lunch was enormous with a giant ‘Yorkshire Pudding’ and so many vegetables and other sides. But we still had room to have an ice-cream dessert! Thankfully we took a stroll after lunch on Scarborough beach, where we saw some donkeys that we were so cute! It was an opportunity for Emma to get to know more locals before returning to London!
