Hace unas semanas fui a cenar con mi amiga, Anna, en The Bistro at Bleeding Heart – un bistro frances en el barrio de Farringdon en Londres.

A few weeks ago, I went for dinner with my friend, Anna, at The Bistro at Bleeding Heart – a French bistro in the Farringdon area of London.

Para empezar la cena, pedí el potage de cebollas mientras que Anna pidió el Gravlax, hecho con salmón curado, que a ella le gustó mucho.  El potage fue bastante bien, pero faltó un poco de sabor, quizas a causa de no tener suficiente cebollas.

To start the dinner, I ordered French onion soup whilst Anna ordered Gravlax, made with cured salmon, which she enjoyed very much.  The soup was quite good, but lacked a bit of flavour, maybe because there were not enough onions.

Sin embargo, a mí me gustó mucho más el plato principal que pedí – linguini con conejo.  Habían cocinado el linguini perfectamente al dente y el conejo estaba lleno de sabor.  Y a Anna le gustaron mucho los mejillones marinaras.  Todo fue acompañado muy bien por un poco de pan, patatas fritas, un vaso de pinot noir, y unos camareros franceses divertidos.

However, I really liked the main course I ordered – linguine with rabbit.  They cooked the linguine perfectly al dente and the rabbit was full of flavour.  And Anna enjoyed the moules marinières a lot.  This was all accompanied very well by some bread, chips, a glass of pinot noir, and some  funny, French waiters. 

The Bistro at Bleeding Heart es un lugar estupendo para reunirse con amigos o contactos profesionales después del trabajo.  Y la cordialidad de los empleados y el ambiente en general de este comedor compensan lo que falta en la autenticidad de la carta.

The Bistro at Bleeding Heart is a great place to meet friends or business contacts after work.  Whatever is lacking authenticity on its menu is certainly compensated for by the warmth of the waiting staff and the general ambience of this eatery.
